We are from Poland. In the ‘90s, when we were kids, stores were empty and power outages common. In the evenings there was nothing else to do but light up a candle and draw. So we drew A LOT. And invented our own board and card games.
When I was 15 we finally got our first computer. My sister learned to program. In a games magazine, I read about a graphic tablet and wanted one desperately. The cheapest one cost $140 which was a lot for my family. I went everywhere on foot to save up my bus money and after 4 months I bought it.
I became good enough to get a few gigs drawing art for mobile games. In my free time, I learned 3D modeling. Meanwhile, my sister got a job as a programmer working on software for libraries.
But we always knew we wanted to create our own stuff.
On Christmas 2017 we visited our mom for a few weeks. We had lots of free time so we had this idea to make a very small game. We wanted to finish it in three days. We brainstormed. I wanted something with cats and my sister loves winter.
We made a snowy island and hid cats there. The task for the player was to look around and find them.
We kept adding islands and 3 months later we published our first game.
My name is Rafał. Come say hi on twitter.
